COVID Safety Protocol

Studio Restrictions

All sessions will be booked at least 2 hours out from one another. This gives us and the cleaning crew ample time to deep clean; disinfect surfaces, door handles, and audio kit (microphones, booms, stands, etc) adequately as well as air out our sound room. We have twin microphones that will be switched and sanitized between uses. At this time we are using metal pop filters/wind screens so we can sanitize them properly.

Entrance Procedure

Talent and Engineering staff must arrive an hour apart, thus providing adequate time for surfaces to be recleaned, once Engineering staff has entered. Talent will be shown to our studio room that is separated from our engineers which will be stocked with water and snacks. We require masks to be worn until in the booth. This setup allows us to keep Talent and Engineering staff separate for the duration of the session at a safe distance.

Resource Requirements:

There will be no printed materials needed for the session. The Talent must either bring an electronic copy of script (tablet or laptop) with them the day of the session, or use one that has been provided by the studio (sanitized during the daily pre-session cleaning).

Interaction Considerations:

When not performing, all talent will wear appropriate face coverings and / or masks. All Engineering staff will wear face coverings / masks the entire session. We understand that there may be instances where the Talent and the Engineering staff need to be in the same open space - like when attaching a lav, or adjusting a mic stand for example. In these instances both parties (Talent and Engineering staff) must wear appropriate medical masks or face coverings and remain as socially distanced as is possible. The face of the Talent, in particular, should an Engineer need to place a lav, must be directed away from the Engineer. Ideally we do not want anyone interacting within close proximity of one another, and prefer that the Talent place their own lav. All talent and staff will be instructed to wash hands before and after any interaction and there will be hand sanitizer at every mic and throughout the studio.

Specific to headphones

Headphones will be provided for all talent and sanitized thoroughly between each use. We will have one set of headphones for each person requiring a set, so there will be no cross-contamination. This will not change whether or not we disinfect ours (or theirs for that matter) but it may lend some additional comfort and security.
